In-person Initial Screening Appointment
A non-refundable Initial Screening Appointment is required for new students seeking to book any of Ms. Ellen’s services. She recommends going to Mindful Youth LLC’s Contact page and filling out the contact form before booking a screening appointment. All participating families must be able to pay private rates. None of the services offered by Mindful Youth LLC are covered by any insurance or reimbursement program. After the initial appointment, based on family preferences, Ms. Ellen will create a recurring schedule of services and bill families directly (not through this website). These in-person appointments are located in San Mateo County, California.
IN-PERSON RATES
Individual and Small Group cost for in-person tutoring is $75-$150 per week. In-person services and events led by Ms. Ellen are available on weekdays and weekends. Ms. Ellen is triple-Pfizer vaccinated and bivalent boosted against COVID-19. She receives the annual booster.
PRICE SHARING
Price sharing reduces the cost of special academic instruction via a small group format. The two-student format is the most popular starting point. Price-sharing is billed in advance per semester and must be received in full before the first session. Maximum class size of sessions are determined by the level of student instructional needs. Cost per family for 2+ students is $75 per week.
SFBA SOCIAL SKILLS PROGRAMS
Ms. Ellen’s social skills programs serve students from any schools in SFBA and are designed primarily for upper elementary students and tweens, although she does serve some high school and college students. These private programs are designed to stretch students socially where they need it most and prepare them for larger in-person social events. MINDFULNESS EVENTS
To book private mindfulness meditation lessons ($50 per class; $500 per 1:1 series) throughout the year, book an initial screening appointment on this page. Register directly on this website for upcoming mindfulness programs as they become available on the meditation page of this website. Low-cost remote video option has been paused indefinitely pending national AI regulation. Thank you to President Biden for his executive order and Bill of Rights regarding AI, which Ms. Ellen hopes Congress with mirror with national legistation.
APPOINTMENT AVAILABILITY
This website calendar allows clients to book their own initial screening appointments up to 2 weeks in advance. After screening is complete, clients are booked into ongoing instruction appointments with Mindful Youth LLC directly by Ms. Ellen.
RESCHEDULE OR CANCEL
Contact Ms. Ellen directly at mindfulyouth@comcast.net to cancel or reschedule sessions. A maximum of two lessons can be rescheduled per 15-lesson series during Fall and Spring semesters. Bigger group events are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled due to logistical challenges.
Mindful Youth LLC’s Commitment to Privacy
Until the development of AI is regulated to ensure rights to privacy, identity and creative copyright, Ms. Ellen will never allow the use of AI in her programs nor the recording of students. Recording via EdTech company platforms enables AI to replicate an individual’s biometric data and voice that may be used for future identity theft. Nor will Ms. Ellen use tech platforms that offer free education services in exchange for the rights to identity and the creative ideas of students and teachers with no transparency about that EdTech intention except in the fine print of Terms and Conditions. Technology should always be developed to assist humans, not replace them. Until that line is drawn via national and state laws, Ms. Ellen recommends protecting students from all AI platforms that record students. Since 2011, Mindful Youth has protected student privacy by never publishing photos of actual students as a marketing tool. Ms. Ellen’s commitment to privacy - and to practical and safe tech-blended learning - will continue as this new tech age evolves.

Yelp, Upwork and other tech companies have been trying to force Ms. Ellen McCarty to give Big (Brother) Tech her biometric data in order to remove false information about her like this economic sector category on Yelp. It’s the right phone number but Ms. Ellen McCarty is not a therapist. She is an education specialist (an educator) and a 30+ year public speaker performer who has never opened a Yelp account. She also operates as Mindful Youth LLC not her name. She should be able to correct this misinformation with a simple call or email to Yelp but tech companies want copyright ownership of her biometric data instead, which can be used by criminals to steal identities. Ms. Ellen believes in privacy and the right to not give her biometric data to any corporation via coercion. No podcasts, reviews or statements should be considered real or valid (they are fake news!) unless they are on this website or connected to her official YouTube channel linked to this website. Always verify directly at mindfulyouth@comcast.net. No matter what is posted about her, Ms. Ellen will never surrender her biometric data, her human rights, her worker rights or her privacy rights and neither should you.
